Though the Atkins diet has been around for a while, there are some people who don't completely understand it. It has evolved in some ways, but the fundamental theory remains the same. And, since Dr. Atkins has died, he can no longer oversee his creation. Some of these changes might not be for the best. I don't know who is running the company now, but I don't think they're doing as well as he would be, and there are changes that are not the best for the dieters on programs. The Atkins bars are a good example.
Don't misunderstand me, I hear they taste good and the carb count is in line with the diet plan, and what it can do. However, for many, this is not something that should be overlooked when they start the program. The first phase of the Atkins plan is the Induction, and these Atkins bars have caused some dieters trying to get through that phase to stall out without knowing why. Because this phase of the program is more restrictive than the rest, anything not listed in the book should be avoided.
