The two hundred seventy pound monkey strikes again! This is, my weight loss impasse; I wrote about it in week 42. This time, though, it’s definitely my fault–2236 calories per day is just too many for me.
Oh well, I tried. And, I even upped the average daily exercise to 24 mins/day. However, like I’ve said in previous posts: exercise doesn’t seem to be a significant factor in my weight loss–calories is the factor. Period.
So, I’ve implemented a new weapon in my war against weight; I added a new row to my calories/exercise spreadsheet–you’ll see this mysterious sheet in two weeks (1 yr diet ‘anniversary’)–that counts down from a preset calorie limit for the day.
For example: next week I’ve set it to 1200 cals per day, so that every time I make an entry in the calories column, it subtracts that–and shows the remaining cals I have left for the day. So, I just entered: coffee w/chocolate - 180 and toast w/butter - 190, for a total of 370 cals–this new column ’says’ that I have 830 left for the day.
830 calories isn’t much, but I’m determined this week to, not only, lose back the 2 lbs I gained, but to lose 3 lbs more–for a total of 5 lbs (265.4)–I’d call that rapid weight loss…
…wish me luck.
This week’s impasse numbers:
- Average calories: 2236/day
- Average exercise: 24 mins/day
- Last week’s weight: 268.4 (lbs)
- Today’s weight: 270.4
- Weekly weight loss (gain): (2.0)
- Total weight loss: 18.8
