Some dieters will resort to extreme measures to lose those extra pounds. Even with the possibility of damaging their bodies with acts of binging and purging, or starving themselves with the kind of weight loss–slimming–pills that simply curb your hunger. Although the social and media pressure to be thin is high, these severe steps to lose weight will surely bring you to a new low.
With persistence, extreme measures can be sidestepped. You can lose the fat if you tenaciously adhere to a few simple rules. While some individuals are dedicated disciples of diet, or slimming pills, I firmly believe in seeking a natural approach first. Because in reality, if you really want to lose the weight, you’re going to have to work hard at it. That’s the way the cookie crumbles, so to speak.
Slimming Pill Portrayal
Do you ever see a character in a movie or on television that is trying to get in shape, resort to slimming pills to get the job done?. No, they do it the old-fashioned way, because it portrays a positive picture of health.
I have a vague recollection of the “Beverly Hills 90210″ episode in which Kelly had passed out from an overdose of diet pills. Although I thought it was ridiculous, the viewing public is not supposed to. It’s an important message to all folks wishing to lose weight. There is a safer and more rational way than slimming pills.
Slimming Pill Sham
Proper dieting demands perseverance. You have to implement a strict meal schedule and stick to it. This routine will require four meals a day. That’s right, I said four meals, not three. There is a common–and false–belief that three meals are the proper amount. It depends on your goals, but If you’re attempting to slim down, the recommendation is four smaller meals with less calories, rather than three large ones. The more you feed your face at one time, the more difficult it is for your body to break down and utilize. Unused calories get stored as fat. By making the meals smaller, you will allow your body to burn most of the fat away. Another benefit is that your metabolism remains at a higher rate, which is essential for losing weight. What you don’t want, is to slow your body down. This is why slimming pills which simply curb your appetite, are unhealthy and a sham.
Your body requires certain kinds and quantities of vitamins and minerals daily. You require these nutrients to remain strong and healthy. Hunger suppressing slimming pills will not get you there–they will in fact, rob you of essential nutrients. Eat healthy, smaller portions more often. Combine this with exercise and you’ll discover the best approach to weight loss.
“Fat blocking” weight loss pills are another animal altogether and are discussed elsewhere.

Hi everybody, I am new to your site but would like to comment on the dangers of slimming pills. I was hoocked on slimming pills for five years and the damage these pills do to your organs is unbelieveble. Not to mention your selfesteme. You start loosing weight because of low selfesteme, as you weight is coming of you start gaining confidence and enjoy the attention you getting. The danger in this deceiving indistry is that you start to loose more and more, and as a result start using more pills, increasing the amount of pills you are taking. Slimming pill adiction is just as dangerous as e.g. crack. I ended up in hospital with a drip and five days to live… fortunately for me I pulled through but have to live with the side affects…. kidney, colon, bowl, stomach problems and low selfesteme.
It is not worth it do it the old fashion way, healthy eating and excercise.

Thanks for your comment Hester. What a horror story! I’m glad you’re doing better now. Can I ask what pill it was you were taking, specifically? It would be great to share this information with the readers of this diet blog.

Over the past year or so I’ve become very interested in fitness, in the beginning I went through the slimming pill ‘phase’. I think it’s just a case of knowledge, the best results you are going to get is from a balanced diet (with a slight calorie deficit), resistance training and cardio.
