How To Get Rid Of Bloating And Water Weight

Many women will say that one thing that bothers them is the bloating that comes back every month. Our jeans are too tight, our feet feel like boats and we get real cranky. Nobody wants to be forced to deal with the unwanted water weight that builds up every month and stays on for a few days. At one time or another, we have all wanted to know how to get rid of bloating.

Diet

A good place to start is your diet. It just may be that the food you eat is helping to contribute those few extra pounds every month. Some people believe that reducing salt intake is how to get rid of bloating. By cutting down on the sodium, your cells won't hold as much excess water as they have been.

Water

Do you drink eight glasses of water every day? Most of us probably should but don't. There are many with the opinion that if you want to get rid of bloating you simply seek a bottle of water. If you don't like it plain, you can mix it with low or no calorie flavor packets or even toss in a slice of lemon. Water is a good appetite suppressant as well, so if you get cravings along with the bloating, grab a glass of water.

Exercise

Getting exercise is another way to keep your body a bit slimmer. Another great idea on how to get rid of bloating is by walking. Walking is an aerobic activity that helps keep your heart and circulatory system in proper working order. When your heart is pumping properly, your body has a much better chance of functioning properly and keeping the water weight off.

Portions

If you're feeling plump around your middle often you may want to consider reducing your portion sizes or eating five small meals a day instead of three large ones. Some women hold the belief that how to get rid of bloating is by never really filling your stomach in the first place. Test it out to see if this approach works for you. Plan on a few days to try eating smaller meals, more frequently, to see if it does in fact, work.

Doctors

Seeking the help of a doctor is usually only necessary for those individuals who have a very uncomfortable level of bloating. In this case the doctor may prescribe a medication such as a diuretic. There are also over the counter ones that claim to be the solution to bloating, but they should probably only be used under the supervision of a doctor. If your doctor does think this is how to get rid of bloating in your particular case, use only as directed.
